The European information system TRACES NT (Trade Control and Expert System) is the European Commission's centralized portal where every entity subject to Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (EUDR) must register their profile and submit Due Diligence Statements (DDS).
Step 1: Creating an EU Login Account and Two-Factor Authentication
Log in to the system at the official address: https://eudr.webcloud.ec.europa.eu/tracesnt/login
- Having an EU Login account (the European Commission's authentication service) is mandatory.
- Security requirement: The EUDR module requires mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA). Note that verification via standard SMS is no longer supported. The easiest method is to use the EU Login App, a hardware security key, or a software token.
Step 2: Selecting the Organization Type
Upon your first login to TRACES NT, the system will display a message stating that you do not have active access rights ("You currently do not have any role allowing you to access the application").
On the initial access request screen (Request authorisation), select the first option.
Step 3: Searching for an Existing Operator or Creating a New One
On the Select an existing operator screen:
- In the Country field, select any EU country (do not leave this field empty, or the system will return the error: Country: Must not be empty).
- By default, the dropdown menus are set to:
- Chapter: EUDR
- Section: EUDR (EUDR)
- Enter the company name or UIC/VAT number in the Search field and click the Search button.
- If your company has never been registered in TRACES, click the green button in the upper right corner: + Create a new operator.
Step 4: Filling in Company Details and Submitting
In the Create operator to request being attached form:
- Operator Details: Enter the company's official legal name (Name), country (Country), and contact phone number (Phone).
- Addresses: Provide the complete administrative address—region, city, postal code, and exact registered office address.
- Chapter or activity: Ensure the sector is set to EUDR. In the Activity details section, specify the nature of your commercial/production activity and enter the relevant identifier (e.g., UIC / VAT number).
After filling in all mandatory fields (marked with a red asterisk *), click the blue Create a new operator button in the upper right corner to submit the profile for verification.
Congratulations! You are now successfully registered for EUDR TRACES.
